The Ghanaian show-biz has lost one of its beautiful voices. The music star Ebony Reigns has just given up in a car accident in Mankranso in the Ashanti region.
Born on the 16th February 1997 her real name Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, the 21-year-old singer returned from Sunyani, a locality in the Brong Ahafo region of central Ghana when the Jeep carrying it collided head-on with a VIP bus going in the opposite direction .
Discussions in Ghana’s media space – radio, television and social media, on Friday January 9 has been dominated by the death of a 21 – year – old female artiste.According to local media, two other occupants of the car (military officers) also died in this accident.
Author of several hit songs including “Sponsor”, “Kupe”, “Poison”, Ebony was revealed to the public in 2015 during Bullet of Ruff n Smooth. She has been nominated for the Ghana Music Awards 2018 in the “Artist of the Year” category.
Born on February 16, 1997, the artiste whose songs have been popular over the past two years was only a week shy of her 21st birthday. The hashtag with her name (#Ebony #RestInPeace) have been on top of Ghana’s twitter trends with people expressing shock at her death. It has also brought into focus the issue of deadly road accidents. Ghana has in the past lost young entertainers to road crashes.
