JOHANNESBURG – Sixteen pre-school children were injured on Tuesday morning after the driver of their minibus taxi lost control and the vehicle rolled several times along the Umgudulu Road in Reservoir Hills, Durban.Rescue Care operations director Garrith Jamieson said paramedics who arrived on the scene just after 7am found injured children on the side of the road.
They soon established that the minibus taxi had rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof.
It was taking the children to school.
“Sixteen children had been injured and once all the injured had been stabilised on the scene they were transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required,” said Jamieson.
The South African Police Service has launched an investigation into the crash.
