After just eight months with Everton Football Club, the Portuguese manager Marco Alexandre Silva was sacked following a 2-0 defeat to Liecester city in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. The game against Watford at the King Power stadium ended with a defeat following a penalty conceded by Watford which was taken and won by Jamie Vardy in the first half, and a late goal that was scored at stoppage time by Riyad Mahrez.
Marco Silva signed for Watford from Hull City city eight months ago, and he had been with the club and did not keep up to expection. With the team the 10th position of the table with 26 points after 24 games being played, winning 7, losing 12, and having a draw in 5 games. Silva was dismissed following a disastrous run of form with Watford blaming the collapse on an “unwarranted approach” from Everton earlier in the season. And Everton FC are considering to replace the Portuguese manager with the Ex Malaga manager Javi Garcia.
A similar situation just occured in the German Bundes Liga with Hamburg in which thier manager Markus Gidol was sacked on sunday after which the team saw itself second from the bottom of the table.
