FOOTBALL: Thierry Henry announced visit to Cameroon

After being invited to Nigeria under the Guinness Brand sponsorship, his official visit to Cameroon has been announced. He has also once been invited by the drink brand Guiness 1998 world champion Thierry Henry and two-time African champion Patrick Mboma will be in Cameroon to play a friendly on May 10, 2018 Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde.

Indeed, they were chosen by the brand of drink to assume the new concept “Clash for Talents”, allowing consumers to play a game of football in front of these two former footballers. The players who will participate in this tournament will be selected after a multi-stage selection process, from the moment everything starts in the Guinness capsule. “The consumer who discovers an image showing a man, the foot on a football is called to go to one of the selection camps that will be organized in six cities (Douala, Yaoundé, Buea, Bafoussam, Garoua and Ebolowa) in through Cameroon, “says Guiness Group on its website. For rewards, multiple prizes and sums of money are up for grabs. The company Guinness has planned a sum of 500,000 CFA Francs for any player of the winning team at the end of this game at the stadium of Mfandena, while the defeated team will have 250,000 francs. Added to this is a special bonus of 250000 CFA Francs reserved for each of the two designated athletes.

The former French attacker has had several memorable moments with Cameroon and other Cameroonians, given that his being with the former Indomitable Lion Patrick Mboma, which will remind many football fans of their encounter at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup following Theiry Henry’s winning goal. And also being that Thiery Henry has also come in contact and played in the same team with some other Cameroonian players like Samuel Eto’o, Oyongo Bitolo, Lauren Etame Mayer, Matteo Andongcho, Ambrois Oyongo Bitolo. So in this case, his coming to Cameroon will even be like any other case of cohabitation, not as a stranger.
