The dancing profession is mostly one of “survival for the fittest” as most dancers have to fend for themselves.
But this really is not always true in some African countries like Ivory coast where some dancers are even to the point registered at the “caisse nationale de Provoyance Social” (National insurance fund).
Yet on the other hand there still exists dancers who are still being exploited and this is the case of DJ Arafat who is one of the biggest names in “Coupe-decale” and one of the biggest name in African music.
But this image is does not benefit his dancers who have problems of their salaries not being paid.
To this effect, BB sans os, Ruffi, Christ and the other dancers of DJ Arafat complain that salaries are not being paid at the end of the month, instead they have to depend on the money given to them in shows.
And the dancers no longer find this comfortable. This however happens irrespective of the fact that the dancers are linked to Arafat on a contract base.
The question was however put to DJ Arafat as to why he exploit his dancers and he is yet to reply.
