About 250 Congolese nationals in Pretoria went out last Tuesaday to protest infront of their embassy in Francis Baard street,Pretoria. They demanded that their President, Joseph Kabila should step down since his term of office ended on the 19th of December 2016. He remained in power and suspended the elections.
The protesters went violent when the Congolese national started throwing stones at the Congolese Embassy and the South African Police Security. This led to the intervention of the SAPS into the demonstration.

Things got worse and some members of the public order police had to join the SAPS to collectively eradicate the crowd. They arrested 9 people with different charges. They will be appearing in court soon.
