Grace Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s first lady after assaulting a woman in Sandton, Johannesburg last weekend might face prosecution.
Zimbabwe’s first lady allegedly got a 20 years lady Gabriella Engels well beaten because she was partying with her sons in a popular hotel in Sandton last Sunday.
Gabriella Engels who is also a South African model posted the pictures of the injuries which she incorporated during the assault on her Twitter feed.
The young lady’s mum tweeted via her daughter’s Twitter account that she would be reporting the assault the police.
More drama was recorded as they were all asked to leave the hotel, even Zimbabwe’s first lady was not an exemption, said the Capital Hotel management group. Social media in Johannesburg and Johannesburg broke out when Engels explained and posted pictures of the assault on her Twitter timeline. According to some Zimbabweans, Grace Mugabe might be granted diplomatic immunity.
But Department of International Relations spokesperson Clayson Monyela commented on that saying that Grace Mugabe could not claim immunity.
“She needs to be here on official business. It won’t apply if she’s here on holiday or for something else‚” he said.
“Secondly‚ as a first lady, she’s not part of the government or a government official. It doesn’t apply just because she’s the wife of a president‚” Monyela said.
