Repeated calls from South West governor for the respect of Calm

The Governor of the South West Region has signed two separate orders prohibiting the circulation of persons, vehicles and motorbikes from 9pm till 7am throughout the Region till Monday October 2, 2017.
According to Governor Bernard Okalia Bilia, the measures enacted is to guarantee the safety of persons and their properties in the phase of repeated calls of violence being perpetrated by some persons with sessionists tendencies, within the South West Region of Cameroon.

“The movement of commercial motorbikes, movement of persons, the suspension of inter-urban transport, the closure of the territorial and Maritimes borders, the total closure of all off-licences, Bars, snack bars, and nightclubs. The prohibition of Public gatherings and the assembly of more than four persons in the public, and the suspension of all activities at Motor parks, the Sea, River ports and works”, Governor Okalia Bilia noted in the press release.
He used the second order to enjoined the peaceful and loving population of the South West Region to remain calm, ignore calls for public demonstrations, stay indoors and avoid disturbances and act of destruction, as this will meet the firm reactions of the armed forces.

He openly told parents to keep their children safe at home. While asking traditional rulers religious authorities, political leaders and the elite, to sensitized and educate their local communities to stay back home and remain peaceful.
He reminded the population that the head of state has evoked the Armed forces to protect the territorial integrity as well as guarantee the security of all law abiding persons and their properties.
This, the South West Governor enlightened, is with the conformity of the provision of the constitution of Cameroon.
